A musical celebration of fellrunning

For those of you who have an interest in classical style music or a true love of mountainous endurance events, Italian composer, Maurizio Malagnini, has produced a new musical piece celebrating fellrunning which was inspired by the 'Bob Graham Round'.

The BBC Philharmonic Orchestra will premier the music in Kendal on Saturday 14th September and can be heard live on BBC Radio Cumbria at 7.30pm.

Running in the Clouds is a musical diary including memories of legendary Bob Graham runner, Joss Naylor.

Richard Wigley, general manager of the BBC Philharmonic and a keen fell runner, said: "The inspirational challenge created by Bob Graham in the 1940s is matched by the inspiration of an orchestra in full flight; the full flight we experience when our minds are allowed to float free from daily life."
