March Night Run

Trig Point Treasure Hunt.

As some of the 'older' (definition: length of membership.... no offence intended if aged over 50) members of the club will know of my links to the Ordinance Survey through commissioned work and previous occupation some 10 years ago. I am lucky enough to be given prior information about new trig points erected around the British Isles. Saddleworth, with it's numerous valleys and level moorland tops has always been a navigational challenge and has been chosen as a site for future geodetic surveying. A new trig point will be erected this month in Saddleworth.

This is an ideal opportunity to possibly be the first group of people to see the new trig in all it's glory standing proud above our villages. It also fits in nicely with our March night run as it will be completed the very same morning.

Venue is The Cross Keys at 7.15pm for a 7.30pm prompt start. Please bring usual warm gear, torch. The odd compass might be useful.

Food afterwards in the pub. I would like to let them know approximately how many people will be eating before setting off (probably soup and sandwiches).
