Anyone for Cross Country?
It's been a while since we have had a concerted effort at getting Saddleworth Teams in the local Cross Country Leagues. For one, they are not everyone's cup of tea, being fast a furious for us fellrunner types. There can be a little hanging around while the previous age groups are finsihed, but what they do offer is excellent wintertime training at a time were slow slogs over the moors are are our only refuge.
We used to be members of the Red Rose League, including a number of clubs we currently race against in the Grand Prix: http://www.redrosecrosscountry.co.uk/index.htm
What I would like to know is, is there enough interest amongst men and ladies to have the club become affiliated at a fee of £20.00 for the season plus £5.00 to register competing athletes. The alternative is to run as guests and pay the registration fee at each fixture.
The first round of races in on the 8th October and are just 4 in total.

I can do 12 November and 3 December so long as I'm not made to wear those running knickers like we had to at school!

That is a great idea Chris. We have got some decent young runners down at the juniors and I think this could be a way of getting them to compete for Saddleworth. Can we get them some vests?
Junior racers
Lewis fancies the Junior races and would like to run for the club.
Any other juniors interested in running for the club?

As long as they are on Saturdays I would be interested, sure they used to be back in the day.
